PROGRAM DETAILS and FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The Homeowners' Association sponsors the Trash Pickup
program. The program was created to allow CKSII HOA members to pool their buying power and reduce their cost for trash removal. The service includes weekly trash removal every
Wednesday and recycling removal every other week. The HOA also funds an annual large item pickup at no additional charge to HOA members.

HOW TO SIGN UP FOR THE TRASH
SERVICE
Payment for the service is made to the Homeowners'
Association. The
Association handles all
of the payments to the trash service provider. You will not receive any
bill from the trash service provider.
Each year in late November or early December, the Association sends out
invoices for the following year's annual dues/assessments to all current CKSII
residents. People chose to participate at that time and return
their payment to the Association.
For new CKSII residents, who move in during the year, an HOA membership
form is available in our monthly newsletter or it can be downloaded from
this web site. However, in most cases, if the original homeowner
was a trash program participant, the new homeowner doesn't need to do
anything. Their trash service has already been paid for the
balance of the year.
In the event that the original homeowner was not a trash participant,
it's easy to sign up. You simply need to join the Homeowners'
Association and chose to participate in the trash service program.
To do that, click the link below and the form will appear on your
screen. You can then print it out. All of the instructions
are on the form.

HOW TO GET THE
TRASH SCHEDULE
SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING
PROGRAM
The single stream recycling program can be described with one word,
convenience. You can place most recyclables in ONE
container. No more sorting.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Do I have to be a member of the Homeowner’s Association in order to participate in the trash program?
Yes. Participation in the trash program is a benefit of HOA
membership.
Does the HOA-sponsored trash program cost more?
No. The Association negotiates with trash service providers and is
able to get a lower rate. Here are some of the reasons why. First, services have been negotiated for a group, not on an individual basis.
Second, all administration is handled by your Homeowner’s
Association. This eliminates the administrative costs to the provider for all billing, which in turn, saves you money. Third,
by working with smaller providers, who have less overhead, the overall cost is reduced.
In most cases, the cost of the HOA annual dues, which include the trash
service program, are less than purchasing trash service on an individual
basis alone. In other words, for about the same or less money, you
can support your community by joining the Association and participating
in the trash program. It's a win-win scenario.
What is the cost?
The cost of the service is listed in every issue of our monthly CKSII newsletter
on the HOA membership form.
How does the Recycling work?
Recyclables are picked up every other week. EDS, the HOA trash
service provider, uses the SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING PROGRAM. This
means that ALL recyclables can be combined in ONE container. Click here to get the
recycling guidelines. These guidelines explain what items can
and cannot be recycled.
What is the Large Item Pickup?
The Large Item Pickup is an annual event, which is funded with HOA dollars. There is no additional cost to HOA members who participate. You do NOT have to be a trash service program participant in order to take advantage of this service.
However, you must be an HOA member. Items, which normally require specific fees to dispose of, are picked up from your curb at no additional cost. Washers, dryers,
dishwashers, sofas and beds are just a few examples. With the disposal cost ranging from $15 to $25 PER ITEM from other trash service providers, this makes the HOA-sponsored program an even better value!
The Large Item Pickup does not include any item that contains 'Freon'
such as refrigerators or air conditioners.
I am an HOA member, but don't participate in the trash program.
Can I still take advantage of the Large Item Pickup?
Yes. All HOA members can participate in the Large Item Pickup
program at no additional cost. It is a benefit of HOA membership.
What if I have large items that need to be picked up now?
Our trash service provider offers a large item pickup service at any
time throughout the year. They do require a 24 hour advance
notice. Call the service provider at the number listed
below. Cost information will be provided at that time. They
will bill you directly for the disposal cost of your large items.
This large item service does not include any item that contains 'Freon'
such as refrigerators or air conditioners. However, the service
provider will be happy to provide contact information to help you
dispose of those items as well.
Are my dues for trash service refundable?
No. Dues are not refundable. However, they are
transferable. If you happen to leave the CKSII community, the new
owners of your home will receive trash service for the rest of the
calendar year. Should you happen to relocate within the CKSII
community, your trash service and HOA membership go with you.
Are there any restrictions on trash service?
Yes. Click here to see a
pdf file of the EDS policies or Right-click
here to save the policies to your pc.
