HOA Trash & Recycling Program

The homeowners association sponsors a trash pickup program as a wonderful value to our community. The service includes weekly trash removal and recycling removal every other week. The trash program also includes an annual large item pickup at no additional charge to HOA members.

Trash/Recycling Schedule & Details

Wednesday is typically the CKSII trash/recycling pick up day; however, when Waste Management has a holiday noted on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday or inclement weather causes a delay, our pick-up day moves to Thursday.

Weekly trash service includes the following:

  • One Trash Cart up to 96 gallons, 10 bags and four bundles of branches
  • Bags must fit inside containers, and not be overflowing, so the claw can pick up to the truck.
  • Bags must be of a reasonable weight and able to be picked up / carried from the top to avoid the driver getting injured. If you have a hard time carrying the bags to the curb, then they are probably too heavy.
  • Please do not deposit sharp objects in your bags. We don't want the drivers being accidentally poked/injured when handling the bags.

Recycling service includes the following:

  • One Recycle cart every other week.
  • CKSII recycle weeks are highlighted in green on the calendar.
  • You can also view the Calendar page for recycling dates.
  • See these recycling tips for acceptable and unacceptable recycling items.

If you have questions or need additional carts added to your WM account, one-time removal of additional items, or to add or drop service, contact our HOA property manager.

Annual Bulk Item Pickup

ONLY Available to Current HOA Members with Waste Management Trash Service

Check the Community Events page for the annual date of the Large Item Pick Up.

Guidelines

  • Place your items at the curb by 6 am the morning of large item pick up.
  • The trash company will not carry items from your home or garage and all items must be ready for pickup.
  • PLEASE NOTE this is a large item pick up and is not intended as an unlimited disposal opportunity.
  • If you experience issues with your large item pickup, contact our HOA property manager - DO NOT call Waste Management. The HOA works with an account representative at Waste Management and the normal customer service staff will not be aware of this event. Don’t move your items back into your home until you've heard back from the Property Manager with further instructions.

Items Accepted

  • Old appliances
  • Furniture
  • Mattresses and box springs
  • Trees / shrubs that have been trimmed and bundled!
  • Old grills that have propane tank removed

Trash Delays

From time-to-time circumstances beyond our control cause trash service to be delayed. Typically when trash is delayed, the pickup will happen the following day, on Thursday. In some instances when service is delayed multiple days or during a holiday week, trash service can be cancelled for the week.

The HOA property manager will send a broadcast email to all members when we are notified by WM. Please remember to check your spam or junk folder, as the email may end up there.

If you have not provided your email address to Keystone Denver Property Management, please send it to our HOA property manager to ensure we can communicate with you.

Service/Weather Delay (From WM):

  • If your individual cart/address is missed on your regular collection day, please contact the HOA property manager to report the missed pickup. Keystone Denver Property Management will work with WM to address the missed pickup and will provide further instructions to you.
  • In the event WM is unable to service the community on the regular service day, such as with a weather delay, WM will attempt to recover as soon as possible, weather & safety permitting, and often they are able to return within a few days. Please be sure to continue to put carts out the following days from 7am to 7pm until WM’s return.
  • If you would like to add contact information (landline phone number and/or email address) to receive a notification of the delay via Waste Management’s automated system, you may add your contact information by calling Customer Service at (303) 797-1600. Having contact information on file will ensure that delay information is communicated in a timely manner.
